Cathedral Windows Pillow made for me!

Remember this stack of fabric I sent to Suzanne?

We had a little swap between the two of us. She would make me a pillow for my living room (from my scraps because I wanted it to match my quilt) and I would make her one. Which I did.  Now I have mine, and I love it!

I can't believe she slaved away on this for me!  I am really impressed with it.

The back is pretty intuitive, thrifty and all sorts of smart!  It's from an unused dress shirt.  She assured me that it wasn't an 'old' one, but from a shirt that was too small so didn't get worn. :-)  Wouldn't want Conrad's sweaty old shirt in my living room.

I can totally see myself using this same trick!

So, what do you think?  Am I pretty spoiled?  I think so!

  2. Okay, that is gorgeous! Now I have to look up how it's done... not that I'll make one, but I just want to know how it is done :-)

  4. Cathedral window quilting is so beautiful, and Suzanne did an excellent job! I like how she used the shirt for the back.
My grandmother made a cathedral window quilt many moons ago; I've always thought it was so pretty. Making one is on my wish-to sewing list.

  5. Such a beautiful design! So thrifty with the backing, I'll have to try that and finish my 2 cathedral pillows :)

  6. It turned out lovely! I can't believe how involved those blocks are. I watched her work on it in stages and totally couldn't see how they were going to turn put at first. Don't know if I have the nerve to tackle seething like that...
