Zachary's Quilt
Zachary is 8 months old and I'm finally finished his baby quilt. I sized it generously so it will work well when he's a toddler too.
I got the inspiration for the pattern from an advertisement for a rug in a Home Depot flyer a long time ago. This quilt looks nothing like the rug.
The back. I only had 1 metre of the flannel with the cars on it, so I had to improvise. It worked out pretty well.
The label incorporated into the back. Quilted on the diagonal, 2 lines one way and 1 line the other way. Inspired by Film in the Fridge. If you've never seen her blog you should check it out.
One of my favourite prints.
And of course, the little guy with his new quilt. He's just crawling!!

He is too cute wandering on his quilt...The quilt is really awesome...I like the large squares and the thin ones...
ReplyDeleteAlso like the different way to quilt it - with the one line in one direction and the two in the other...I gotta keep that in mind...
this is adorable. was it hard to get everything to line up so nicely?
ReplyDeleteIt's precious, just like him! I love making the larger baby quilt, it stays with them so much longer
ReplyDeleteand they will use it for sofa snuggling!
That's so wonderful! And he is just too adorable for words. :)
ReplyDeleteSo many great prints in this one! I love how it turned out!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is wonderful! I love how the red really sets off all the coloured blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love it Alisa! I love all the different prints - I think the smaller elephant one is my favorite :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous quilt - I love the bright colours (the red really makes it pop!)
ReplyDeleteand I can't believe you got outside in the snow to take that picture!
That is one great baby boy quilt! You did a fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job! I love the design idea. Your son looks so cute crawling around on it. Baby's don't really need quilts till they are a little bit bigger and you can actually let them use them so you are right on time or even early in my book!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful! You can play I-Spy with this as a going to bed game! I love the different sized blocks with the sashing. I don't usually like sashing, but love this!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and pretty quilt. Love the design. Especially the red bordering around the fabric prints.
ReplyDeletelovely quilt! And cute baby, too :-) I'm finishing a quilt for my son at the moment. He just turned two. It's my first quilt, so slow progress! Thanks for being around to inspire!
