Sleep Sacks

This week I've been working on sleep sacks. I've used the pattern from Anna Maria Horner's book Handmade Beginnings. If you've been reading this blog for any length of time you know my love of bias binding. I love how it adds so much to the sleep sack. I also got to give my new snap pliers a workout. I've been having fun with this project!

I bought all of the fabrics for these at Joann's in Bellingham.  The flannel was on sale for 2.99/yard.  So affordable and much less expensive than up here in Canada.

Colette, do you still read our blog? Which one would you like for Danielle?

  1. Those are beautiful and look so professionally made. Very nice job. I love sleep sacks for babies. My youngest has just stopped wearing them :(

  2. Really like the argyle one! Are those resin/plastic snaps? I have a snap press and I'm always looking for ways to use it(and the hundreds of snaps that came with it!). I might have to get that book from the library again. Or borrow Suzanne's copy. :) And dig out my sewing machine...

Will you be selling these in your Etsy shop or are they for some very lucky gift recipients?

PS - Would it be possible to turn off the word verification for comments? ;)

  4. FrugalMMmama - I am not sure why you are needing to do a word verification to comment. I don't need to when I post. Blogger has changed it's entire interface in the past couple of months and I cannot figure out how to change it. If I do figure it out I will change it. Would it be possible for you to allow me to answer you via email by entering your email address into your blogger profile (and allowing it to be seen?) I'm not planning to sell these in an etsy shop. These are all gifts. Our family and friends have been very prolific this year! :-)

  5. I love sleep sacks! My last 2 children lived in theirs until I could no longer justify keeping them in one any longer!! Yours are way cuter than what I used :)

  6. These are so cute and well-made! I was just thinking that I may need to try to make some of these since it is getting colder and Max will not leave his blanket on.

  7. I love these! The colors are cute and I love how the snaps go down the side - different than the usual zipper or buttons down the middle. My girls loved their sleep sacks when they were in them and wouldn't sleep without them.

  11. I usually post under "Kim M' but thought maybe using my Blogger name would let me skip the word verification (even though I have yet to start my blog). I'll have to read up on how to fix my email issue...I know I read how on some blog. :)

Anyway, super cute and very lucky gift recipients!
