Giveaway Closed Giveaway Day - Bias Tape

Hi there!  I'm Alisa, wife to Gord, mom to 5 (4-12 years) and maker of many things.  I have a small etsy shop  - the Busy Quilt Mom where I sell the odd quilt, my bib pattern and my favourite, bias tape.  As a result I have piles of odds and end bias tape and I am going to give it to one of our readers.  Kind of an odd giveaway, but I trust that some of you are making things that could use or need some colourful bias tape.

I'll be throwing in some extra bits of fun trim from my sewing room as well.  Kind of a surprise package for you!

To enter just leave a comment!  Tell me something you have made or would like to make that includes bias tape/binding.  If that's too hard, just tell me where you are from and what kind of weather you are having lately.  Thanks for stopping by!

Just thought to add that I have a video on YouTube on how to apply bias binding.  Here's the link!

  1. In my UFO stash is a vintage bib that's waiting to be cross-stitched on the printed pattern. It's already bound with white bias, but I plan to re-bind it with color.

  21. I used some me-made bias binding to cover up the very messy seams inside a denim jacket I made for my daughter. I love the way it looks, making it obvious that it is handmade, but so tidy.

  22. I just finished three doll outfits for our neighbor who just turned eight. I bound the neck and armholes with bias tape. I can only imagine the fun I could have making doll clothes with these bright colorful bias tapes, almost better to embellish with than to bind. Bias tape is also great for binding the edges of an easy casserole cover I like to make. I just love the bright cheerful colors you have. Whoever wins this will have fun sewing with them.

  183. I love bias tape! I use it on small bags, the hems of my granddaughters' skirts, sleeve bindings on costumes, and in stitchy mixed media projects. love the orange polka dots.

  184. I love bias tape, I only wish it came in more colors! I mean, is there anything it *doesn't* work on?! I love using it on the edges of frayable fabric, rather than doing french seams. It makes even the inside of clothes look professional, and often provides a pop of color! (It's tough though if your'e trying to match it color-wise to a pattern)

    Thanks for the fun offer!

  186. I'll answer both, LOL. I live in south Alabama and it has been awful here. It really isn't awful, LOL but the highs have been in the low 60s 20 or more degrees lower than it usually is this time of year. It is playing havoc on my garden.

I would make an adorable circle skirt for my niece. My favorite way to finish the bottom edge is with bias tape.

Thank you for the chance to win!
