I am a "would love to be one" quilter !
ReplyDeleteI sew but I am pretty slow, I knit much quicker...
And I just would LOVE to be able to quilt something huge and unique and beautifull...
I try to stick to patterns. I don't do well when I wing things.
ReplyDeletei dun stick to patterns, more like trial and error
ReplyDelete^0^
I usually wing it ... mostly because when I started out I wanted to make the most efficient use of my fabric (so I'd figure out what size to make my squares such that I'd have less than 1" of scrap at the end of a row)
ReplyDeleteThat being said, planning quilts on graph paper is my favourite part, and I've been following more and more patterns lately :)
Sarah
I love the name of your blog, so I'm following it now!
ReplyDeleteSarah
sometimes i follow the pattern but in other i just let it go to my mind! is very dificult be only one of them! thanks for the giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteand i'm a follower of you! besos desde México!
ReplyDeleteAll quilts I did were done without pattern, but only because I never owned one. I love those patterns. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI have to follow a pattern - unless it is applique and then I tend to improvise. Thanks for the chance to win one of those patterns!
ReplyDeleteGina
so far I've just been winging most of my quilts, but I love the Wild Thing pattern and have been eyeing it for a while now. I think I might just be ready to try my first pattern!
ReplyDeleteNifty! Thanks for participating, this looks like great stuff.
ReplyDeleteI usually start with a quilt pattern and then I change some things as I go along.
ReplyDeleteI thought I would be the type of quilter that sticks to patterns, but I'm not. I usually see a quilt that I like, and then pull out paper and pen and figure it out on my own.
ReplyDeleteAs far as sewing goes, I do follow a pattern. I've messed up far too many times wingin' it!
Linda T
ltenhage@gmail.com
I'm also a follower.
ReplyDeleteCute! I wing it sometimes, and sometimes I follow all the instructions. Depends on what I'm making. :D
ReplyDeletefollowing on google reader now!
ReplyDeleteCame through SMS and I'm loving the blog! Thanks for the giveaway, it's very generous!
ReplyDeletepatriciaconesa@gmail.com
Oh, and I just suscribed to your feed through my bloglines!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I try a pattern I follow it and then if I like it I will add my own style to it.
ReplyDeleteI just recently have started following you blog and I have really enjoyed reading it. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI normally do a little of both. For some things I follow a pattern and others I might start with a pattern for an idea but then change it.
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog on my google reader :)
ReplyDeleteI sew clothes, quilts, and fabric crafts.
ReplyDeleteI'm a self-taught sewist, and haven't tried "real patterns". I like to wing it, or use a little help from tutorials. I haven't done a "real" quilt yet, just rag quilts, but I plan to tackle that next. I'd love to have those beautiful patterns for my first attempt! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletesonya.missbossypants@gmail.com
I tend to wing it.. inspiration leaps forth when I'm winging it. Lovely patterns, I would make sure to follow the directions if I won!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful booklets!! I like to wing it but I also like the patterns, but I learn from the tutorials on other's blogs!!
ReplyDeleteI have also become a follower and am excited to check out your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh those look so fun. I love that Whirly gigi quilt I have been wanting to try one for a while.
ReplyDeleteI am not quite brave enough to wing it just yet, but the more I quilt the closer I get:) Lovely prize!! Thanks!
ReplyDeletechristinbanda at yahoo dot com
I definitely follow the pattern, just like I follow the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI am a complete and total beginner so I would rather follow a pattern
ReplyDeleteI usually see a quilt, forget exactly what it looked like
ReplyDeletethen wing it
Some times it works
I'm totally a wing-it person, but then I pretty much always do simple designs anyway. :-) Maybe a free pattern would convince me to try something more complex!
ReplyDeleteI'm most comfortable with a pattern, but I'm winging it with my latest project. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI usually wing it but would love to try one of your patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you
I mostly take a pattern and then change it so it fits what I need.
ReplyDeleteKaren
nkschouten@telus.net
I'm an impatient sewer...so I usually do little projects and when I am feeling adventurous, I'll make some from patterns :)
ReplyDeleteQuilter here and if you check out my email id you'll know what I do!
ReplyDeleteAdded you to Blogs I follow! I like your style!
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage pattern!! I am knitter turned sewer because I like quick projects. I am mainly a bag maker but have moved on to patterns. I love to follow a pattern the first time around and then I modify. I have made my first quilt and would love to make more!!
ReplyDeleteI usually see something I like and then figure out the pattern myself (for quilts). For sewing I usually need a pattern or directions. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI am a pattern girl! and I've been wanting to try the wild things pattern, so this is totally great. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm a combination! I like patterns, and am a pattern junkie, but wing it quite often too. Sometimes I modify patterns as I go too.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!
Both patterns are great! I usually just "wing" quilts! :) I used to use patterns quite a bit when I first started quilting but found that I enjoy creating a quilt much more. I do use a pattern once in a while still though! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity!
hmscott@charter.net
I'm now following the two of you! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, that just sounded "stalkish" sorry! :)
I think I'm use a combo. I sew more clothing than quilts and I usually read the directions, but sometimes I like my own way better - and then sometimes it backfires on me!
ReplyDeletehi
ReplyDeletei kinda follow the pattern - i like to tweak things a bit!
gill x
I started with sewing from t-shirts, then tried patterns, but I like tutorials best.
ReplyDeleteHi! When I quilt or sew, I usually follow the pattern, but sometimes I tweak it just a bit to make it my own.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway offer!
I like to do a bit of both. Patterns are great, but the challenge of turning your own idea into a finished project is really rewarding.
ReplyDeleteI'm new at quilting, so i still follow the patterns. but i leave a margin for my creativity (and errors eheheh)
ReplyDeleteI am usually a wing it kind of sewer. But I am slowly coming to appreciate patterns a little more. I LOVE tutorials though. They are like winging a pattern. Very fun!
ReplyDeleteAND i'm now a follower!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to quilt and I like a pattern. That doesn't mean I will stick with it exactly as it says, but I like to have some basic guidelines to go off of when I am working on a quilt!
ReplyDeleteAnd I became a follower!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever really quilted before. But I'd really love to get started.
ReplyDeleteI'm a quilter who takes parts of patterns to make quilts. Either just a block, or I like the setting treatment or an applique feature. I usually do my own thing. That being said, I would love to add these patterns to my collection! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI wing it with tutorials and patterns that I find on line. i cannot for the life of me follow a store bought pattern!
ReplyDeleteI used to just wing it or since I have a fairly pictographic memory, I can just look at something and work out the dimensions later, but have recently started using patterns and have found that I have a better chance of success!!!
ReplyDeleteI am newbie self taught so I definitely need a pattern to follow to the T
ReplyDeleteI love those patterns! For quilting I'm usually a pattern follower, or I at least have a general sketch. For other crafting I wing it :)
ReplyDeleteI "wing it"! lol! Great giveaway!
ReplyDeletekynaroyal(at)yahoo(dot)com
I'm a little bit of both...but I really like to wing it (I just get scared!)
ReplyDeletekellyjo(dot)haines(at)gmail(dot)com
I use the pattern for the general idea and I follow every step if I get stuck.
ReplyDeleteemily.nudelman@gmail.com
I don't follow a pattern (although I do need detailed instructions), but I am starting to change my mind...
ReplyDeleteI'm too inexperienced to wing it! I'm normally a wing-it sort of person, so I'm looking forward to that day when I can!
ReplyDeleteNice giveaway. Thanks!
Hello again,
ReplyDeleteI use patterns for clothing items and then still like to embellish. I haven't done enough quilting yet so say that I do it without patterns. I would have to say that for most of my sewing, I prefer to make things up as I go - suits my crazy wing things personality!! I do love patterns though for the ideas and in quilting I still need to learn more than a few techniques before I scrap the patterns!
Lisa
ejvandam@cogeco.ca
I am also a follower : )
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fabulous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm still new to sewing and quilting having only started this August, but I'm definitely a "wing it" type of sewist. I don't normally follow any pattern, but I do have a rough idea of the size of things I'm making, and I would draw out patterns for the blocks when I'm quilting.
I start following the pattern but at the end I always have added a personal touch
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of the blog !
ReplyDeleteI am the type who should follow a pattern but tends to wing it. Result: every project takes longer than it should. Maybe with one of these patterns I could see the light. :)
ReplyDeleteI make a wide range of things from sleep sacks to curtains. Sometimes I wing it, and others I follow a pattern- most of the time with some minor adjustments. :) Karen- twiceasniceboutique@live.com
ReplyDeleteso following!
ReplyDeletei would love to win wild things since i am a follow a pattern kind of girl when it comes to quilting! thanks!
ReplyDeleteI start by following the pattern but usually rely on pictures after that.
ReplyDeleteI start by following a pattern... but I usually make things up as I get toward the end. Have a wonderful Christmas ladies!
ReplyDeletesimply.simon.sisters(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm a beginner so I am definitely one that needs a pattern. I love those chosen for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI am the type of person who prefers to wing it. I have an odd body shape, so a pattern doesn't usually fit. Besides, I can come up with some pretty cool stuff when I put my mind to it!
ReplyDeleteI'm really new to quilting, so I've only followed tutorials. I'd love to try a pattern on my own!
ReplyDeleteIf a pattern exists for my project I definitely follow one. If I'm making up a project myself, I try to write out the steps and make pattern pieces otherwise I get confused!
ReplyDeleteMichelle
michelou[at]gmail[dot]com
I especially love that first pattern!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you :)
That magazine looks like a ton of fun. I'm mostly a by the book type of person (my motto is: "Rules keep us safe) and sewing is no exception.
ReplyDeleteOh I definitely need to stick to a pattern!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I stick to a pattern, sometimes I change something, and sometimes I do sewing my way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a giveaway
Kind regards,
Simona
I'm a little of both - patterns and try my own designs...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway...
I am follower using bloglines!
ReplyDeleteI usually just wing things, maybe referencing tutorials or tips online. It doesn't always work out as well as I'd like, so I think I need to learn to use patterns more.
ReplyDeleteThose patterns are so lovely, I am not very good at winging it, I usually do better following a pattern, I am trying though.
ReplyDeleteThis might be backwards, but I'm afraid to wing it on quilts! I'll wing it on clothes and bags, but not on a quilt, generally! lol
ReplyDeleteWith experience comes confidence - like to make some changes to the pattern in order to customize it to a certain size or preference
ReplyDeleteI am fairly new to sewing and am a pattern follower.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI am a beginner quilter, I love those patterns
ReplyDeleteI usually wing it on things like bags, quilts and pillows, but always follow a pattern on clothes.
ReplyDeleteI love a good pattern but I always make some changes and when it comes to clothes for DD I usually wing it.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a pattern-follower when it comes to clothing, but I do enjoy making up my own designs, or combining a number of patterns into one, for everything else.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new quilter so I follow patterns! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteoh and i'm a new follower yay!
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new to quilting, and I love having a pattern, or at least a detailed tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI usually follow a pattern, but I am tiring to wing it more as I don't have much patience to cut out patterns. Thanks for chance to win.
ReplyDeletecurry.jessica@gmail.com
I mostly stick with patterns and would love to start quilting (beyond standard squares) - you have up some great stuff. Glad that I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower!
ReplyDeletemichelejudd@gmail.com
I am also a follower.
ReplyDeletecurry.jessica@gmail.com
i'm a craft sewer-i usually follow patterns but if it's too hard-i wing it
ReplyDeleteI'm a prolific knitter branching out into sewing, and found your blog in the Sew Mama Sew forum. Glad to find you! I have made up simple projects (kerchiefs and aprons) and am about to try following a pattern for the first time as a sewer (have done so a lot when knitting).
ReplyDeletesgtmurphy1975@yahoo.com
www.iwantnina.blogspot.com
I'm now following as well!
ReplyDeleteI start out thinking I can wing it, but then fall back on the pattern (although, I do take shortcuts),
ReplyDeleteDepends. Sometimes I modify patterns too.
ReplyDeleteNeat patterns
ReplyDeleteI follow a pattern, but adjust it to my liking and needs.
Oh, I'm such a follower of rules (and patterns and recipes). Sigh, I wish I weren't! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI TRIED TO POST EARLIER BUT i DON'T THINK IT WENT THROUGH. i AM A PATTERN FOLLOWER, i WILL MAKE CHANGES TO A PATTERN IF I FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH HOW IT GOES TOGETHER!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier! I generally follow patterns, I have enough issues as is making sure my pieces are cut properly and seams are the same size, etc. Even if I don't use a pattern, I usually plan things out precisely!
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie quilter. I'm on my third quilt right now, and I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteI'm just a beginer sewer, so I use patterns
ReplyDeleteshou.milk@gmail.com
I follow you
ReplyDeleteshou.milk@gmail.com
I love that Wild Things pattern. I mostly follow patterns when I quilt, but lately I've been following patterns but putting my own twist on them.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE to quilt, it's a little obsessive! I have made 6 this year all done by machine. I have never followed a pattern, I just look at tutes and wing it, however I think following a pattern would be very good for me, and may teach me a thing or two about quilting! Thanks for the chance to win! -Karen from ontario Canada!
ReplyDeleteGreat patterns!
ReplyDeleteOoh, how fun!
ReplyDeleteI've gotten away from patterns recently, though I suppose I do follow a fair number of tutorials. Slightly different, in my mind. A lot of modifying this or that to suit my fancy. ;-)
But I would love those two patterns, I've been wanting to make quilts just like that!
Liz @ teeny tiny quilts
I'm pretty much a make it as I go along type :)
ReplyDeleteBut it would be nice to try using a pattern for once. I love them both.
Thanks for the giveaway
I always thought of myself as a pattern user--but then I recently made a few items on my own (after seeing them other blogs). I guess I don't have many good ideas myself, but I can wing it if I see it. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteJodie
jodcoz(at)yahoo(dot)com
i typically use patterns but i'm learning to wing it and slowly learning to quilt as well
ReplyDeleteI follow the pattern, but wing it when i have to.
ReplyDeletehi, love the patterns
ReplyDeletefollowing you now too!!!
ReplyDeletesometimes i wing it.... a little. :) but usually, i'm a traditional-loving girl.
ReplyDeletebess
jbknav@hotmail.com
I swing back and forth. For clothes I use a pattern, for other things I tend to wing it and not be as precise. My lack of precision can drive me crazy sometimes!
ReplyDeleteShawna
I typically can draft a pattern myself by looking at the picture, but there are some that defy my abilities...I want to better myself in color play
ReplyDeleteI follow a pattern
ReplyDeleteand I follow you! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a newby. I have never followed a pattern I have learned through tutorials in the great blogs I have found online. I would love to know how to follow and read a pattern. I guess that will come with time.
ReplyDeleteI'm mostly a pattern kind of gal, but I have branched out and tried my own thing, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a "create as you go" type person, or sometimes a "see a photo and try to duplicate it" person. I've used a pattern from time to time, but I always tweak it to make it "mine".
ReplyDelete:) Hey! Checked out your blog the other day after we chatted! Great work! Sweet giveaway too! I'm mostly a pattern follower. I'm usually timidish, though since improvising with my wedding dress, I've branched out considerably. I still like to base my work on something, generally.
ReplyDeleteas much as I would like to 'wing' it, I am a pattern girl..I can't wing it in the kitchen either! woudl love your patterns! Thanks for a chance.
ReplyDeleteI do both- pattern for help and then I wing it and make it my own. Thanks for hosting this giveaway. Happy Holidays.
ReplyDeleteJane
Ohh..I'm a little bit of everything. Quilting, clothing, accessories, home decor - and I pretty much wing most everything. But that's not always successful...I tend to buy thrift store sheets, etc to practice on first go round! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am prone to measuring and drafting most projects without a pattern. I love math and geometry and get my kicks by employing these skills. Mind you, when it comes to clothing patterns, I like to stick to the basics and only adjust or alter where necessary. The only type of clothing patterns I like to do on the fly are twirly skirts for my preschooler. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteA am a procrastinating but enthusiastic quilter. (Just bein' honest.)
ReplyDeleteI am more apt to follow a pattern and directions. I love to sew but I'm not especially creative ...I do try tho!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!!
I am a new follower of your blog as of today. It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBecause I am a pretty rigid person, I always, always begin with a pattern and the intention to follow it to the letter. By the end, though, I usually have ventured off on my own, either because I feel inspired or because I am accomodating some problem--lack of a needed fabric, or measurements that don't quite add up.
ReplyDeletewordygirl at earthlink dot net
I am a born again sewer and have found myself embracing patterns and patternless sewing alike.
ReplyDeleteGosh I would love to win these and start quilting too!
Hi there
ReplyDeleteCute site
Great giveaway(s) :)
I am a self taught sewer and a quilter in the making. I read read read the directions and then always tweak or add something that I like to make it kind of mine
Thanks for the opportunity
Cheers
Catie
cathycurrie@comcast.net
i read a pattern and then adjust it to the way i would want!
ReplyDeletegreat patterns! I use them as I do recipes.. as suggestions only. what are the ingredients? Okay, now I shall make it my own!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Wow...I love your blog...It's the first time I have been but honestly love the home-y- more with less. I'm a mom of five and can totally relate. I would LOVE a copy of your bib pattern. Did you make it or is it a pattern?
ReplyDeleteI just added you to my blog roll...check it out at www.joscountryjunction.com
ReplyDeletea am the tipe that does it just like the pattern shows.
ReplyDeletebut if i make it again i become more free to start changing things in the pattern
thanks!
i am a follower
ReplyDeletethanks!
I usually follow a pattern. Everyone creates such great stuff! How can I not follow.
ReplyDeleteI love to follow you guys!
ReplyDeleteI usually wing it. But I like patterns too. I just don't have too many of them. I've been thinking that I could control my stash better if I only bought fabric for a specific pattern and made it right away. Don't know if that will happen but I might try it.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower.
ReplyDeleteI have to have a pattern, but hope to break out of that some day soon. I love both those patterns!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower now too!
ReplyDeleteI just finished my first quilt top last night. I just winged it but it would probably be best if I followed a pattern.
ReplyDeletescharris21@gmail.com
I'm a pattern type gal. Sometimes after I look at patterns and tutes, I think that I could have figured it out myself, but I really like having someone tell me the size and measurements.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
~Jenny~
When I started out sewing I followed a pattern. I've been winging it a lot more lately. I've also started trying to make my own patterns.
ReplyDeleteI do a little of both. I started out making my own patterns (because it was easier!), but now I am at the point that I can also follow patterns. I find both totally enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Sarah @ http://comeandseetheseitz.com
I just started quilting...thanks for the lessons Suzanne! I am thinking I will need to follow patterns for a long time before I get the hang of it.
ReplyDeletei am a wing it quilter that craves the order of a pattern. imagine that.
ReplyDeletethis is a great giveaway...please count me in
lezlie21(at)aol(dot)com
i do already follow
ReplyDeleteI am most definately a quilter!! It's my passion!
ReplyDeleteI love the Wild Things pattern! And yes, I do like to follow patterns. Although I would like to break out of that eventually!
Happy Holidays!
h_freund@Hotmail.com
oh and I am a follower! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
h_freund@Hotmail.com
I tend to stick to patterns because I am a relatively new quilter. Hopefully in a few years I won't need to. janet(dot)salonen(at)pp(dot)inet(dot)fi
ReplyDeleteI am now a follower!
ReplyDeletejanet(dot)salonen(at)pp(dot)inet(dot)fi
I have to follow a pattern. I'm a terrible perfectionist.
ReplyDeleteI love the Wild Thing pattern you are giving away. Thanks.
Can I pick both? When starting out or doing something I'm unsure of...I am a pattern kind of girl. But when it's just straight lines--I'm a look at someone elses and make my own kind of girl. So, I'm pretty easy to please, I guess!
ReplyDeletekelli
kellbell_6@hotmail.com
I think I might fall somewhere in between. I never work without a plan. Sometimes that plan is a pattern, sometimes it is an adaptation of a pattern and sometimes it is planned out based on what I happen to want to use up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for or the great giveaway!
I often make up my own patterns, but pre-made patterns are nice even if only because they have the fabric requirements all printed out.
ReplyDeleteI do some of both, although I used more patterns when I started than I do now. I guess lately I've been doing more of my own pattern-drafting. But when I see something that I must make, then I use the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway!
I'm a follower! Thank you for the giveaway. alusco(at)centurytel(dot)net
ReplyDeleteWhen learning I definitely follow a pattern - handbags & quilts. For clothing, I usually wing it :) Thank you for the giveaway. alusco(at)centurytel(dot)net
ReplyDeletei'm new to quilting. Recently, I made the 3-2-1 quilted throw from the sewmamasew tutorial. I also made the picnic quilt with pockets for rocks.
ReplyDeleteNormally I sketch out a pattern and go from there..I like to use patterns tho. Thanks for the give-away!
ReplyDeleteI am new to quilting and would love to win a pattern. ladycolmn@aol.com
ReplyDeleteFor my quilts I fallow patterns but I just wing it when sewing clothes for my kids.
ReplyDeleteThanks
~kelly
I do both actually though lately I have been winging it a lot. Great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI am so new to quilting, I've only used one pattern from a book, and I also made a strip quilt top. I've wanted to try some pinwheels, so thanks for the chance to win your patterns!
ReplyDeleteI am new so I have to follow the pattern and look at the directions!!
ReplyDeleteI did make my son's quilt without a pattern, not sure how I managed that!! (still waiting to be quilted. )
thanks for the great giveaway!

shecarita(at)yahoo(dot)com
I'm a poor pattern follower - I usually screw up a step along the way and end up having to do my own thing to fix it !
ReplyDeleteI mostly follow patterns (love the two you are giving away) but have been know to change them up a little.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and now I am a follower.
ReplyDeleteI usually wing it but have to admit things always go smoother when I follow a pattern.
ReplyDeleteLove your style and will be back for more. I am now a follower
ReplyDeleteI am both a follower and a wing it at sewing for my little one. As for quilting, I will be a follower when I finally get around to starting one. That's such a hurdle I haven't jumped yet. I am adding you to my google reader because I just enjoyed reading a few of your recent posts. That quilt is beautiful and I really like the outfit you refashioned for your daughter.
ReplyDeleteNice blog! I am a follower now!
ReplyDeleteI am a little of both. I often "wing it" when I come up with an idea and want to start working on it immediately, without taking the time to find a pattern. But it is far easier for me to follow a pattern and I make less mistakes when I do. I guess I like to experiment and wing it, but when I really want to get something done quickly and properly the first time, I follow a pattern. I love the patterns you are giving away! They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have never used a pattern. I've always just winged my quilting. I'm actually interested in trying a pattern sometime. Maybe I'll win yours!!
ReplyDeleteaaronandconsuelo@gmail.com
I wing it! which gets me in trouble... often :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer patterns, but I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head that I might try sometime. I've been considering that Thimble Blossoms pattern, actually, and I love the Fresh Vintage patterns too!
ReplyDeleteI am a "patterns are just suggestions" kind of sewer, though when I make a quilt, I tend to follow the directions - which are usually my own anyway. That was confusing!
ReplyDeleteI follow!!
ReplyDeleteI follow patterns. Without them I would be totally lost!
ReplyDeleteI completely have to follow a pattern, or a tutorial, at least to get started. I have started a few things that I shortened/lengthened/modified at some point in the game, but I still really need to have instructions. I can't just look at something and know how it was put together! I greatly admire the people who can! It reminds me of playing the piano--most of the time, pianists fall into one of two categories: people who play by ear and have a great sense of rhythm and such, and people who read music well and sight-read with excellence. The first category are great jazz pianists; the second are great classical pianists. I am not a great classical pianist, but that is my category too! Thanks for a great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm definitely a follower not a leader...lol...so patterns it is for me!!
ReplyDeletevanessa_colbourne@hotmail.com
Oh, and I now Follow your blog too! :)
ReplyDelete
