I like to go back and forth between quilting and sewing. Right now I'm onto sewing again.
This was a pretty easy pattern to follow. I find the sizing a little small. I made a size 8 for Deanna who is 6 1/2 years old. It's a bit tight. I lengthened the dress a bit by adding the ruffle on the outer layer and the lace on the under layer.
I also find the sleeves a little odd looking. Maybe because it's on the small side?
Deanna loves the dress though.
I'd like to make it again, this time View A.
Thanks for all the comments on my kids birthday. We had a good day. Their shirts are both appliqued.
Cute dress... I see that the Kids Clothing Week Challenge is coming up... my boys need raincoats. Just trying to find the courage to give it a go. It's been a while since I made clothes... which is funny because all through High School I made a lot of my own!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very cute! The blue is good on her.
ReplyDeleteDid you know it's the same pattern I used for my girls last year?

The sleeves could be like that because of the weight of the fabric. The fabric I used was really light so it didn't stand up as much.
I like the way the sleeves lay, how I miss making dresses, I know.........I might surprise you one day.
