Bibs; Advice Needed

Did I mention that many babies were born and expected to be born in my church? More babies = more bibs. I wish I had time to make other more exciting things for all of them, but I do enjoy giving a little handmade to each one, if time allows.
Raw edge applique. This will fray when it is washed, but I like that look.
Three sweet little girls.

I've been working on a tutorial/pattern for this bib. Tutorials are alot of work, so I'm not finished. I kind of gave up half-way. I'm totally in awe of the hours some bloggers put into their free tutorials.

Anyway, I'm still thinking of finishing it, but that kind of depends. Do you want a pattern/tutorial for my bib? That leads me to another question. I would like to make it available in a pdf. How do I provide a pdf online? Is there a free way to put it online? If someone can help me out with these questions I might be propelled to finish it and provide it for your use.

Hope you are all having a good week! So far mine is much better than the last three combined. (5 kids + chicken pox in 2 batches + husband working overtime + weaning baby + mom out of town for 3 weeks = tough time! Thankfully I have a m-i-l and s-i-l who came to the rescue a few times. I'm glad to be on the other side!)

Thanks for stopping by our little blog. We enjoy your comments and suggestions.

  2. Adorable little bibs, would love a tutorial, but I can't help with the technical questions. I also have a few people expecting, I just finished a quilt over the weekend and some knitted baby booties, will post in a couple of days.

  3. I am having lots of friends who are entering motherhood, I'd love to give something but the sheer number of babies makes my head spin when thinking of making them quilts! I'd rather save those for special people

  6. Technical stuff ... It is easy to create PDF files using Google's free web app, Google Documents. If you work with Word files, they can be uploaded directly to Google Documents and "Downloaded As" (exported to) PDF files ... which can then be uploaded back to Google Documents and shared via links on your posts!?! You would need a Google account and there are limitations on the size of uploaded documents. Word documents or RTF files are limited to 500kb. TOO MUCH info ... sorry but HTH! Thanks for all that you do share!!!

  9. Hi Alisa, I would love to have a tutorial for bibs! I was thinking already that I would have to get it from you once I pick up my sewing machine. I like the frayed look, too. Those bibs are real cute. Sorry, I don't know anything about PDFs. - Linnet

  12. I would VERY much like the tutorial. I don't know what you have for a computer but if you don't have a program that makes pdf files, here is a free download. http://www.primopdf.com/index.aspx
After you have saved the file to your computer, you just link it like any other file. If you have questions, email me at jokramer@makinglearningfun.com I don't mind helping.

  13. CutePDF is also a free pdf printer. You can "print" directly to file as pdf as soon as you download and install the application as a printer. I used Keep and Share for the one tute I uploaded - similar to Google Docs, I think. Fairly easy to use.
