Corn Syrup Painting

Benjamin was bored so we did some Corn Syrup painting. At least this stuff is good for something. Tutorial found here.

Just posting this in case you need something to occupy your child(ren) with.

Right now Suzanne and her family are here! We are planning to get together and sew tonight! Yeah!

  2. What a great craft. I went straight to Michael's yesterday (I was in Abbotsford anyways) and bought some glossy paper.
The kids loved it...and were so happy it was raining so they could do this inside. They made some beautiful pictures...but the aftermath of this craft is not so fun. They laid them on the freezer to dry, getting stuck to other papers, etc.
So today I asked them to take them outside to dry. They hung them over the fence..the sun came out...and they started dripping!!!
    Live and learn!

PS did yours dry completely? How long did it take?

  3. By the end of day 2 they were dry. But I left them on my sewing desk and a few days later they were very sticky again. It was raining and the windows were open. I don't know if they will ever be completely dry. Maybe the original crafters live in a dry area?? Another way to make paintings shiny and finished looking is to paint modge podge over them or spray them with clear acrylic sealer after they are dry.

What else did you buy at Michaels? :-) They are putting one in Chilliwack next year... Should be fun!

  4. I can't resist a good browse through Michael's. Our trip was not as relaxing as I'd hoped...think 5 year old, 3 year old and a 2 month old!! But fun anyways. My favorite part of the store...the $$ bins!! I always think I'm getting a great deal, but by the time I'm done...you can guess!
    Have fun with your sister!
