Only, it wasn't. I lengthened the dress a few inches and it looked like a sack on Deanna. So I made a sash to tie around it. Deanna wasn't loving it and neither was I.
So, I sewed a casing at the waist and inserted an elastic. It look terrible. Deanna doesn't really have a waist so it just looked awful.
I actually picked all those stitches out and reverted it back to its sack-like state. It hung in her closet for a couple of months.
Then we discovered this little sweater in the top of her closet. Someone had handed it down to us and it didn't fit with anything so I had stored it away for another year when it might fit with something.
And what do you know? Deanna loves it! Of course, it does hide the nice details like the neck line and the sleeves. But, oh well. It's getting worn. It's comfortable and we're both happy.
That's not our dog. We took care of the neighbour's dog for a week. |
The end.
I'm so glad she's wearing it now! And looks like it should fit in the fall too hopefully.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Suzanne...it looks like it should fit through next fall/winter.:) It's a neat dress, I love the details.
